Multistudio reimagines Allen Fieldhouse as an immersive tribute to KU basketball culture and community pride
The renovation of Allen Fieldhouse at the University of Kansas, led by Multistudio, aimed to preserve the venue's iconic status while enhancing the fan experience through immersive design. The project integrated environmental graphics and spatial storytelling, creating a cohesive narrative that celebrates Jayhawk history. Key design elements included a dynamic use of the university's crimson and blue palette, alongside custom textures that abstracted the Jayhawk mascot, enriching the visual environment. Strategic application of historic typography emphasized heritage without overwhelming the space. The outcome has been overwhelmingly positive, with increased social engagement and improved wayfinding noted by fans and alumni, transforming game day into a more interactive and memorable experience, ultimately deepening the emotional connection to the venue.
