Washington & Jefferson College: Locker Room Rebranding and Vicki Staton Women’s Wall of Champions

The design centers on a bold graphic system that integrates typography, archival storytelling, and brand elements into the locker room architecture. A structured yet dynamic layout organizes historical content in a way that is both visually engaging and easily navigable within a transitional space. Typography and color draw directly from Washington & Jefferson College’s established identity, reinforcing brand consistency while elevating the tone to match the significance of the content. Scale plays a critical role—expansive treatments ensure visibility and impact, while smaller details invite closer engagement. Material and placement decisions were guided by durability and context, ensuring the installation performs within a high-traffic athletic environment. The composition balances legacy and momentum, presenting past achievements alongside a forward-looking energy. By embedding the design into the physical space, the solution transforms the locker room into an immersive storytelling environment that supports both emotional connection and institutional goals.
