- What is the GDUSA Design Gallery?
- The GDUSA American Graphic Design Gallery is a permanent, searchable archive of award-winning graphic design from the GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards and their sibling programs: winners from 2021 to today, the firms and designers behind the work, and data-driven trend analysis over the whole archive. GDUSA has judged American design since 1963.
- Is any of this AI-generated?
- No. Every project here is real, human-made work that won a human-reviewed GDUSA award, and the people behind it are verified through our claim process (instant when we can confirm your email, otherwise an editor reviews it). We use AI only as clearly-labeled tooling — plain-English search and optional editorial summaries — never to make the design itself. The gallery is a record of verified human creativity, not an AI image feed.
- Is the gallery free?
- Yes for winners: when you win a GDUSA award and publish your entry, your project page, creative credits, basic profile, and a followed link back to your own site that helps your Google ranking (once you claim your profile) are free. Pro membership (Designer Pro and Firm Pro) is a paid upgrade that adds premium profiles, media galleries, AI design tools, and analytics.
- Do I need to have won an award to become a member?
- No. The free Winner Listing requires a published award win, but Pro membership is open to every designer and studio — win or no win. Pro members can host their own projects alongside the award archive and use all the premium tools.
- How do I claim my project, firm, or designer profile?
- Claiming is free and takes about a minute. 1) Find your work — search your name, firm, or project. 2) On that project, firm, or designer page, click "Claim." 3) Verify it's you: if your work email matches your firm's verified domain, or the address we already have on file for you, you're approved instantly; otherwise you add a quick proof (name + email or LinkedIn + a short note) and an editor reviews it, usually within about 48 hours. Once approved you manage the profile — edit your bio, links, avatar, and project details — and your website link becomes a real, followed link (a "dofollow" link, in SEO terms) that helps your Google ranking and sends you visitors. Premium tools (media galleries, AI, analytics) are an optional paid upgrade.
- What is the difference between Designer Pro and Firm Pro?
- Designer Pro ($19/mo) is for independent designers: a premium verified profile, media galleries, AI briefings and drafts, the Trend Explorer, and up to five self-submitted projects. Firm Pro ($49/mo) adds team seats for co-owners, larger media galleries with native video, premium styling across all firm projects, and up to 25 self-submitted projects. (A followed link to your site, which helps your Google ranking, is free for any claimed profile, win or Pro.)
- What are People to Watch and Top Design Schools?
- They are GDUSA editorial honors. People to Watch spotlights designers and creative leaders to follow each year; Top Design Schools recognizes the programs shaping the next generation. Both are archived by year in the gallery and linked to the honorees’ award-winning work.
- What is the Trends Blog?
- The Trends Blog publishes essays and data-driven trend analysis computed over the GDUSA archive — leading styles, color and typography shifts, and the work defining each award and year. It is part of GDUSA Design Intelligence, which also includes a premium Trend Explorer for members.
- How does search work?
- The gallery search is AI-powered: you can type keywords or ask in plain English (for example, “minimalist packaging with bold type”). It combines keyword search with semantic matching across titles, firms, designers, categories, and AI-derived style tags.
