American Package Design Awards 2026
Created as a fundraiser for the Cashiers Historical Society, a non-profit in the mountains of western North Carolina, this commemorative candle and matchbox set was designed for the Cashiers Designer Showhouse — the organization’s largest annual fundraising event. The creative strategy intentionally placed Cashiers, North Carolina, at the forefront. With visitors traveling from across the Southeast, the opportunity was to create more than branded merchandise: a sophisticated keepsake that captured a sense of place. The Historical Society’s identity remains subtly present, while the consumer-facing design celebrates Cashiers itself and appeals to a broader audience. Inspired by the area’s luxury mountain lifestyle, the collection combines an earthy palette, delicate botanical illustration, and classic typography to create a look that feels elevated, timeless, and distinctly at home in Cashiers. Designed as both a desirable home accent and a meaningful souvenir, the collection turns a fundraising product into an enduring reminder of the week-long event — supporting the preservation of Cashiers’ history while celebrating the destination visitors came to experience.
