Zermatt Travel App Student Project

My app aims to create an uncomplicated way for users to plan their trip to Zermatt, a mountain resort town in Switzerland that sits at the base of the Matterhorn. They key pain point that arose during my research that this app aims to fix is the planning of activities that rely on one another. Many of the activities in Zermatt require points a and b to get to c, meaning that some activities are contingent on one another. Since there are no personal cars allowed in Zermatt, it would be extremely inconvenient to miss a certain activity and have to re-do other steps to get back to it. In order to solve this problem, my app incorporates activity packages that bundle activities that should be done together and also offers a create your own package option where the user is given choices to select from to create a day of 3 activities that can be done together. The app also includes an interactive map that has color coded pin groupings that correspond to activities in a certain area that can all be done together. The main design style for my app includes a color scheme of white, ice blue, and a dark navy blue, all of which are in line with the snowy mountain resort town of Zermatt, and they are accompanied by a strong pop of red, as color which is commonly associated with the Swiss flag. The main imagery used in this app is an illustration style that incorporates offset lines and solid color.
