Design briefing
An AI-assisted expert read. Included with Pro ($19/mo).
Dissonance is an immersive multimedia installation that aims to translate the phenomenon of cognitive dissonance, the tension created by conflicting beliefs, into a sensory journey. The experience unfolds across four distinct phases: Consistency, Chaos, Turmoil, and Adaptation, each representing a shift in emotional and cognitive state. Consistency introduces a sense of stability, reflecting the comfort of alignment. Chaos disrupts that stability as fractures begin to appear, evolving into Turmoil, which intensifies the experience, embodying the mental strain caused by opposing ideas. Finally, Adaptation offers resolution, illustrating the mind’s instinctive drive to restore balance. Using Cinema 4D, Adobe AfterEffects, and Resolume Arena, the project produces dynamic 3D animations projection-mapped across an 8x8x6 cubic-foot space. My goal was for the viewer's environment to act as a landscape of thought, transforming the installation into a shared space for discovery and reflection.
