Health & Wellness Design Awards 2025
A new brand for a new era of clinical research Since its founding in 2012, SubjectWell has been transforming the way patients connect with clinical trials. What began as a novel idea has grown into a trusted, global Patient Experience Platform that serves patients, sponsors, clinical research organizations (CROs), and clinical sites. As we expanded, so did the landscape around us. Competitors emerged, and the complexity of our work increased. The pandemic underscored the urgent need for speed in clinical research. Meanwhile, precision medicine, oncology, neurology, and other therapeutic areas introduced increasingly challenging eligibility and regulatory requirements. At the same time, digital technologies and AI surfaced as powerful opportunities to drive efficiency. Global studies have quadrupled in just 13 years, contributing significantly to the massive growth in clinical research. As a result, clinical trial diversity has become essential for producing reliable data that accurately reflects the varied demographics of the populations that will ultimately depend on these therapies. With reflection, we realized we weren’t just serving sponsors — we were accelerating research that changes lives. We were no longer just supporting sites; we were removing barriers and driving efficiency. Further, we weren’t just recruiting patients; we were helping people navigate hope, choice, and care. And we were doing it differently. It became clear: our brand needed to evolve to reflect not only what we do, but to stand out from assumed competitors Why we rebranded Our old identity was built for where we started. With the shifting changes in healthcare, rising patient expectations, and emerging need for clinical breakthroughs, we needed a brand that: • Puts patients first — showing empathy, accessibility, diversity, and trustworthiness. • Stands out in the market – bold, approachable, energizing • Empowers sponsors, CROs, and sites — highlighting our role as a reliable partner in enrollment and retention. • Reflects innovation — positioning SubjectWell as a leader driving change throughout the patient experience The rebrand was about aligning our visual identity, messaging, and voice to reflect our evolved mission: power global clinical research through a seamless Patient Experience Platform that supports every step of the patient journey—from initial identification through long-term retention. The new identity Our new brand tells a story of intention, human connection, and progress: • Visuals: Clean, modern, and organic design elements signal transparency and trust, while human-centered imagery reflects the patients and caregivers we serve. • Voice: Warm, clear, and empathetic — we speak to patients and customers as people, not “subjects.” • Messaging: We highlight outcomes that matter — better site efficiency, faster enrollment, stronger retention — all achieved through a patient-first approach. Impacting the communities we serve The SubjectWell rebrand goes beyond aesthetics and represents our renewed commitment to everyone we serve. By putting patients at the center and empowering sites and sponsors with smarter solutions, the new SubjectWell reflects our vision for a future where clinical research is more accessible, efficient, and human-centered. • For patients, the new SubjectWell means an even clearer, more supportive journey into clinical research. • For sites, it means tools and resources that simplify recruitment and help them focus on care. • For sponsors, it means confidence that every study is powered by innovative, patient-centered strategies.
