Cobber Tourism App

The second most populated city in the country, Melbourne, Australia is overflowing with activities for tourists — from diverse food scenes, scores of interesting and varied museums, amazing classical and modern architecture around every corner, and beautiful parks to take a stroll through, as some examples. Thus, this project centered on the following problem statement: Melbourne has an overwhelming amount of activities that are hard to sort through, and additionally, most users will travel overseas to Melbourne, leading to fatigue. My app simplifies the planning process by having themed days and a custom “create a day” option, along with the ability to change an already set itinerary to allow for scheduling that both maximizes the user’s experiences while also allowing for flexible scheduling suited to the user’s energy levels. In concept, the app solves both of these problems by grouping activities into “themed days” that makes sorting through activities clear and efficient, and allowing for a flexible, modular style of planning where the user can change their itinerary at the press of a button. In design, the app strives for a friendly, clean, and vibrant approach. The use of sans serif typefaces infuses the app with a clean, minimal look, a saturated color palette of teal, orange, and yellow evokes brightness, and shape elements inspired by the Pixel Building add interesting and dynamic forms on each screen.
