The challenge was to create an identity that communicated strength, hope, and transformation while avoiding the visual clichés commonly associated with behavioral healthcare and recovery. The identity centers on a simplified mountain and cross, reflecting both the "ridge" within the organization's name and a symbol for the faith-integration. The angled stripes of the mark are symbolic of the primary military focus of its patients. The identity needed to communicate clinical credibility and trust while connecting with an audience accustomed to strength, structure, mission, and self-reliance. The tan and olive green color palette reinforce the connection to the military environment while helping Valor Ridge feel warm and human rather than clinical or institutional. The result is an identity designed to meet people at a vulnerable point in their lives with a message of strength, dignity, and hope.
