“Each week, I started by landing on a unique concept that would carry the design.”
Each week, I started by landing on a unique concept that would carry the design. This could be a unique typographic style or a way to manipulate a photo. Keeping in mind that I needed to make both headlines fit in the space and leave room for a player's name, the design needed to be carefully thought out. Additionally, name lengths vary, and the design needed to accommodate short and long names. In the designs, I tried to stick to either a light or dark theme as laid out by the brand direction for the season. Light mode graphics that used daylight photos utilized a delicate serif typeface, while dark mode graphics used gradient maps with a tall sans serif typeface.
