Mote Marine Laboratory 2025 Annual Report

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium's annual report highlights the multifaceted mission of our independent, nonprofit marine science and education institution and its public-facing Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA). Our 2025 annual report presented exciting design and storytelling challenges: Emphasizing the new Mote SEA, which recently opened, without losing focus on the hard-core science and technological innovation of Mote Marine Laboratory, which has always been the bedrock of Mote's mission. We used topographic-style lines to combine a scientific aesthetic with the branding in our new Mote SEA, we featured clean infographic pages with strips of vibrant color from our aquarium animals, and we interspersed stories of innovative research with stories of creating the new Mote SEA. We heavily emphasize the STEM Teaching Labs at Mote SEA, where the science of Mote Marine Laboratory is translated to students.
