Juneteenth Bus Wrap Design Intro Video

In honor of Juneteenth, Broward County Transit External Affairs Division designed a mobile museum in 2024 to highlight the significance of June 19th in American History and its impact on the advancement of African American communities. The Afrocentric-inspired bus wrap was designed with elements symbolizing the resilience of African Americans. The vibrant colors utilized are of the Pan-African flag. The insightful design also incorporates the symbolic Sankofa bird which is always turned backwards with its head facing forward in order to represent the importance of learning from the past to build a better future. The eye-catching bus was incorporated into a broader activation at the BCT Lauderhill Transit Center to heighten a connection to public transit riders in the area. It quickly evolved into a popular Freedom Day selfie-station and was broadcasted across news outlets in the local market.
