“When Teladoc Health introduced its next generation of connected devices for chronic condition management, the creative challenge went far beyond showcasing the technology.”
When Teladoc Health introduced its next generation of connected devices for chronic condition management, the creative challenge went far beyond showcasing the technology. The imagery needed to represent the wide range of people who could benefit from these devices — across generations, backgrounds and communities — while depicting every device being used accurately and responsibly. That meant every image had to do a lot: broaden representation, feel authentic and human, clearly demonstrate proper device use and withstand individual legal review. And we needed enough variety to build a useful, scalable image library — without the budget for a traditional photoshoot of that size. Rather than let those constraints limit the work, the in-house creative team turned them into the creative brief. Through an inventive new approach to image-making and close partnership with Legal, the team created a diverse library of device imagery that balanced representation, responsible depiction of care and brand storytelling. The approach also unlocked a creative advantage: greater control over art direction. Wardrobe, environments, props and backgrounds could be intentionally composed to complement the Teladoc Health color palette, allowing people and devices to remain the focus while creating a visual thread across different ages, homes and lived experiences. What could have felt like a collection of disparate images instead became a cohesive, ownable visual system. The result is a case study in creative ingenuity: solving a highly regulated production challenge while expanding representation, strengthening brand expression and keeping humanity at the center.
