Estudio Interlínea's "Cangrejeras de Santurce Dominoes" honors Puerto Rico's unique sports culture by merging the ritual of dominoes with the fervor of professional basketball fandom. The design features a custom domino box that disassembles into four functional playing trays, allowing for seamless gameplay while celebrating the Las Cangrejeras women's basketball team. Utilizing 3D printing, the object integrates the team's colors and branding directly into its structure, creating a unified aesthetic that resonates with the local community. The outcome exceeded expectations, as the initial design for team management sparked organic demand, leading to additional sets for season ticket holders and players. This project not only reinforces the significance of the "sobremesa" but also transforms a traditional keepsake into an interactive experience, fostering deeper connections among fans.
