Special Categories & Events Design
Award-winning special categories and events from the GDUSA Design Awards, with the firm and the designers credited on every project.
139 award-winning projects
Event and special-category work is design with a date on it: a launch or a holiday that comes once and has to land the first time. The designer gives a moment its own identity without leaving the brand behind, and the deadline is the brief. The winners here make an occasion feel bigger than its budget. Bonavita Design's holiday champagne packages for Unimac have become an annual event of their own, and AARP's welcome box gave a new member something worth opening. The best event and special-project designers in the awards are on this page. Open any piece to see it and learn how it was made.

- Which firms have won the most GDUSA awards for special categories and events?
- Thomson Reuters leads with 5 winning projects, ahead of Bonavita Design LLC (4), ZOTAC (4), Anne Ink (3), Hybrid Design (3), Test Monki (3). The full ranking, with each firm's latest winner, is on its own page. Best Special Categories & Events firms, by award wins.
- Which clients are named on award-winning special categories and events?
- Clients named on this work include Journal of International Taxation, Germack Pistachio Company, Kimberly-Clark, Theorem, 826NYC. The firm that entered the work named the client, so the credit is theirs. Work an in-house team made for its own company does not count as client work.
- How do I enter special categories and events in the GDUSA awards?
- Entries go through the GDUSA entry platform. Past winners in this category came through the American Graphic Design Awards and the American Package Design Awards. A single entry costs $120 as of October 2026, and packages bring the price per piece down to $400 for ten to twenty entries. Winners who publish get a project page here with full credits, and publication is the paid step. How the awards work.
