VINE empowers victims with timely notifications about offenders, transforming community safety through a thoughtful web experience.
The Story
The VINE web experience was developed in response to the tragic murder of Mary Byron, who was killed by her ex-boyfriend after her family was not notified of his release from jail. This led to the creation of VINE, a system that provides timely notifications about offenders' custody status to empower victims and communities. Now operational in most US states, VINE has sent over 800 million notifications, enhancing public safety. The new website, VINE.equifax.com, was designed to effectively communicate the VINE story to decision-makers, featuring user-friendly elements and a calming color palette. By replacing the brand's traditional red with purple, the site aims to create a safe viewing experience for victims while serving as a valuable resource for community agencies.
