Michael Reese Health Trust is a philanthropic foundation dedicated to creating a healthier future for all Chicagoans. The redesign of Michael Reese’s website created an opportunity to enliven existing brand elements, better reflect the foundation’s unique approach and amplify stories of its growing impact. Established from the proceeds of a hospital sale, Michael Reese’s brand visuals carry over many traditional elements from its healthcare roots: simple, sparse design with a muted color palette. To create a more welcoming look and feel—one that better matches the foundation’s highly collaborative, relationship-based approach—the new site features a vibrant, contemporary design with a warmer, augmented color palette. Organic design elements such as quote boxes and asymmetrical dashed lines capture the spirit of openness and experimentation that defines the organization, while a dedicated “Bold Ideas” page helps communicate its innovative approach to catalyzing change. Authentic photography highlights the foundation’s team at work and the communities it serves, and a new storytelling page creates space to showcase impact and partnerships. Finally, intuitive navigation tailors the site experience to specific audiences, ensuring every visitor’s journey is clear and purposeful. The result is a dynamic, visually inviting platform that positions Michael Reese to engage diverse stakeholders, share its impact more effectively and champion health equity across Chicago.
