Amaze your interiors with a blueprint-inspired surface pattern that merges tactile textures and digital artistry.
This project was developed in collaboration with Astek and ArtCenter College of Design to create original surface patterns for commercial wall coverings. Inspired by construction sites and floor plans, I turned their geometry into a maze pattern that pairs architectural structure with the tactility of real materials. The textures are site-sourced and hand-made, then composed digitally. I took charcoal rubbings across campus from wood, steel, concrete floors, cutting mats, and painted walls, and layered them in Adobe Photoshop with a light spray paint pass to build depth and an unmistakably analog feel. This approach intentionally merges physical experimentation with digital composition, showing how hands-on mark-making can push contemporary pattern design. The final blueprint-inspired maze carries authentic, place-based texture and a personal hand, making it especially suited for interiors where geometry, material, and narrative work together to shape atmosphere. It is both commercially viable and distinctly authored.
