A catalog that merges clean design with traditional Newa script, enhancing the cultural experience of the Kathmandu Valley exhibition.
The Story
Riva Nayaju created the "Echoes of Kathmandu Valley Catalog" for her exhibition at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, showcasing 100 watercolor and ink paintings that highlight traditional Newa architecture. The catalog design features a harmonious blend of clean typography and the Ranjana script, a traditional Newa writing style, intricately woven into the layout. This thoughtful integration not only enhances the visual appeal but also reflects the cultural richness of the Kathmandu Valley. The catalog serves as both a keepsake for visitors and an extension of the exhibition experience, inviting viewers to engage more deeply with the artwork and its cultural significance.
