ABCs of Water Reuse Book Design

How do you visually explain "membranes" to someone who's never heard the term? The ABCs of Water Reuse book tackled the challenge of transforming intimidating water engineering processes into friendly, accessible education. Our design strategy centered on creating visual metaphors that make complex concepts feel familiar rather than foreign—turning abstract technical processes into clear, engaging illustrations. We developed original artwork that balances scientific accuracy with human connection, using recognizable imagery to build reader confidence. The book's visual system guides readers from simple concepts to more complex topics through thoughtful typography, strategic color use, and illustrations that tell stories rather than just show diagrams. The result is educational design that proves technical content doesn't have to be intimidating—it can be both informative and genuinely engaging.
